Way back in the early 1970's when the "Carmel of St Joseph's Convent" in Orlem Malad, was inaugrated, The Beatovens played a show with Carl Rodricks. At that time The Beatovens band members were my brother Adrian Pereira on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, my cousin Dicky(Risbert) Pereira on bass guitar and vocals, Rannan Sasson on drums and me on lead guitar and vocals. We borrowed and practically begged for people to help us with and lend mostly amp and speakers. All we had were our guitars and a drum kit, purchased from Leo Rodricks(no relation of Carl Rodricks) in Lourdes Colony, who discontinued his band The Sensations.
Today 17th April 2016 here in Melbourne Australia, I am meeting up with Carl and his wife Joan, who are visiting from Perth where they currently live, and we are re launching nostalgic times from our early days as young aspiring musos in good old Orlem Malad, Mumbai, India. We are playing at the 10.30am mass at St Justin's Wheelers Hill, Melbourne, Australia. Welcome to Melbourne Carl and Joan!
